Google has announced that Panzer Dragoon: Remake will arrive on their Stadia Pro service on June 1.
In a new update on their website, Google has announced that five new games will be released on Stadia Pro on June 1, bringing the total number of games available in Stadia Pro up to 17. One of them is Panzer Dragoon: Remake, making this the second platform the game will be released on after the game’s initial launch on Nintendo Switch. Those subscribed to Stadia Pro (or taking advantage of the trial version) will be able to play the game at no additional cost.
It’ll be interesting to see how well the game plays on Google’s streaming platform. On the one hand, input lag is typically higher on a streaming service such as Stadia, and there’s also a loss in video quality due to the video being compressed. On the other hand, technically Stadia is much more capable than the Nintendo Switch, which should allow the game to run in a higher resolution and a more stable framerate. It’s not clear at the time of writing if the Stadia version will be version 1.3 of the game.
Regardless of the technical aspects, a previous poll on our Twitter account showed that only 1.3% of the 862 people who voted were actually planning to play the game on Stadia. The official Panzer Dragoon: Remake Twitter account also has been rather silent about the Stadia release. We can probably expect more attention going to the PC release (on Steam and GOG), although a release date for that is yet to be revealed.
