Forever Entertainment have confirmed that the GOG.com version of Panzer Dragoon: Remake will include support for achievements, like the Steam version.
Monika Ginter has confirmed that we’ll be able to earn achievements in the GOG release of Panzer Dragoon: Remake. GOG has its own client software called GOG Galaxy with it’s own database of achievements, seperate from Steam. However, the 2.0 version of the Galaxy client provides the option of connecting other accounts and viewing all of your games and achievements in a shared library. This means that even if you buy the game on Steam, Xbox, or PlayStation you’ll be able to view those achievements in Galaxy, and with the Steam version you’ll be able to launch the game via Galaxy. Still, it’s nice to see that if you want to buy the GOG version to get that stand alone installer that will work even if the service goes down, you’ll still get native achievement support when Galaxy is running, without the need to connect to other accounts or have multiple clients installed on your PC.
Achievement support hasn’t been added to the GOG listing yet, which is a bit out of date, featuring early screenshots from E3 2019. But no doubt this will be updated nearer to the release date. We’re still waiting to hear back regarding whether the GOG version will support cloud saves, which have already been added to the Steam listing.
