Archipel releases the first Saori Kobayashi short musical interlude, "Ecce Valde Generous Ale" played on the piano from memory, with another track to come!
For the 25th anniversary of Panzer Dragoon, Saori Kobayashi performed an acoustic session which included some music from the series. Archipel plans to release these one track at a time, starting with “Ecce Valde Generous Ale”, the title theme for Panzer Dragoon Saga. You can watch the video of Saori Kobayashi playing “Ecce Valde Generous Ale” on the piano, solely from memory, on Archipel’s YouTube channel:
In the video, there’s a short piece where Kobayashi talks about how she came up with the music for Panzer Dragoon Saga. She says:
The world itself really belongs to science fiction, it is futuristic. However, it is also rather in decay. I thought of tribes living there, and the type of music that they could play and listen to. I decided not to rely too much on regular sounds, but rather edit my own sounds and tones. It was after Panzer Dragoon Zwei, so I learned from it and thought of original elements, rhythms, tones, and melodies.
It’s great to hear this beautiful piece, and from memory no less. Archipel previously tweeted that there would be two tracks from Saori Kobayashi. I look forward to seeing the next session.
