Cut-Scene

Take this, you imperial bastards!

Sub-Boss: Wormriders

I’m gonna use a smoke bomb!

Ready…! Fire!!

Hm. This guy’s a little tough.

Hey, hold on a second! You’re no Imperial soldier!

Cut-Scene (Episode 3 Event 1)

The name’s Mobo. I apologize for our hasty reaction.

We both took a little damage, so let’s just call it even?

But enough talk. This place isn’t safe. Follow me!

Let’s take a shortcut. Stay close and don’t get lost.

Main Route: Underground Area

Don’t run into those floating things!

Wooohooo!

So, have I impressed you with my flying skills yet?

Main Route: Ruined City Area

It’s dangerous to stop. Just keep moving forward.

It’s a security system of the Ancient Age.

Shooting it is no use. We have to go around it.

It was built over 10,000 years ago, but it’s still active.

Route A: Ruined City Area

Timing is everything.

Route A: Underground Area

Watch your back.

Route B: Ruined City Area

They’re locked onto me!

{Then either:}

Thanks! You love me, don’t you?

{Or:}

Ack!

{Then:}

These guys just won’t let up, will they?

To your right!

They’re coming from the left!

Get behind them!

{Then if you give Mobo a chance to shoot at the enemies:}

Take this!

Bye guy!

Main Route: Ruined Bridge Area

Once we get past this area, we’ll be almost out of here.

Damn! I can’t shake ‘em!

{Then either:}

Phew! You’re beautiful!

{Or:}

Ugh!

{Then:}

Nice view, eh? They’re the ruins of an Elder war.

We’re being followed!

Cut-Scene (Episode 3 Event 2)

You met the Drone, Abadd? You mean the one riding on the dragonmare?!

Drones are monsters created by the Ancients, but they look like humans.

You see, we’ve lost a lot of friends to the Empire… They’ve got these new weapons… dragonmares.

The Empire is chasing that Drone to get him to make more dragonmares for them! Heh!

Our den is just on the other side of this desert.

And watch where you fly… This area is full of ancient traps.

Something’s coming!

Boss: Catharp

{When you’re not in front of the boss:}

It’s not doing anything. The shield is getting in the way.

{Then if you stay behind the boss:}

We’re vulnerable from here. Try attacking from somewhere else!

{Then when you destroy the boss’ mask:}

The Mask’s gone! Attack the face where it used to be!

{Then the first time you shoot the boss’ weak point:}

It’s working! That’s its weak spot!

{Then when the boss enters its second phase:}

This isn’t good. We must stop him before he destroys the place!

{Then if you take an extremely long time:}

There! A way out!

Cut-Scene (Episode 3 Event 3)

Elder Ponta!

Well, well…

Ponta: Quite the unusual guest we have here.

Hmm…

My dear, your heart… it’s so cold.

So frightened… So alone.. So angry at the world. My poor, poor dear..

Why do you hate the world so? Why do you push it all away?!

They were all afraid of me… They said that I was the harbinger of destruction…

I was chained in a cage and told that I would stay there until I was needed for war…

I have no family… no friends.

I am alone in this world!!

Hmm…

Orta! Don’t be sad! I’ve got an idea!

You can be my wife! I’m sure living with me will make you feel better!

Ha ha ha ha!

Your 3 other wives would disagree with you, Mobo!

But, I agree with his intentions.

Stay a while. We have no chains that could imprison you here.

Ha ha ha ha!

Narration

Several days passed since the girl had followed her friend to his den.

Never before had she felt such warmth and camaraderie as Mobo’s people welcomed her into their homes.

Never before had she seen another person so much as smile or laugh or love. It was not something she was used to.

Slowly, the world around Orta began to change in her eyes.

Cut-Scene (Episode 3 Event 4)

Soldier: Target acquired! It’s atop that giant floating creature!

Admiral: Wormriders… Disgusting savages…

Destroy the dragon and retrieve the target!

Damn, it’s the Empire!! I’ll make them pay!!

Notes

{The following lines of dialogue exist in the game code for this episode, but they do not seem to be used in the finished game. Apparently they would have been spoken by Mobo at some point, and they are unusual for a couple of reasons. Firstly, these lines can be heard in Sestren’s Memory Cells in episode 7, even though they cannot actually be heard here. Secondly, the word “Baldor” is misspelled as “Baltor” here, which is the name that the encyclopaedia gives to the huge desert-dwelling worms from Panzer Dragoon episode 2. Spelling and grammatical errors often appear in “lost” lines such as these, as they do not undergo as much refinement as the text that can actually be seen in the finished game. The lines in question are:}

They’re all ancient war beasts created by the Elders, long ago.

Even this Baltor of mine was a war beast thousands of years ago.

{There are many other lines of dialogue in the game code for this episode which similarly do not seem to be used in the finished game. Many of them are simple variations on lines that do appear, though:}

Attack while It’s blinded!

From the front!

Arrgh…

Just leave it to me!

Leave some targets for me, too!

The traps here are deadly. Don’t let your guard down.

Good! Now, follow me!

Leave everything to me!

We gotta stop that thing!
