A defensive-type bio-engineered creature, they appear floating harmlessly until approached. When an intruder wanders near one of these creatures, it will emit a field of high voltage electricity capable of killing most biological creatures, or temporarily paralyzing the nervous systems of others.

It is believed that these creatures were created as living mines of sorts, rendering flying enemies helpless upon contact.
